The cost of living just got less.  Half price training days in March - see below

Harley-Davidson lifestyle

Not just a number.

2012

Well all that Christmas stuff is out of the way and the snow has gone (but it could come back though).  It's 2012 and we have our best ever programme of rides starting as soon as the worst of the brass monkey weather is over.

If you are already a member, have a look at the programme.  If you've got a new Harley sitting in the garage and aren't a member yet, get on with it and join.

2012 Riding programme

Our best programme yet.

We've got over 30 rideouts planned, a trip to Germany, week-end rides, trips to the Peak, trips up North, trips to the sea and some quirky ones as well - you name it there is something for everyone if you like getting the bike out.  Don't go fishing.

Latest news

Half price training

Don't miss the chance to sign up for two great half price training days:

  • Saturday March 3rd.  Lincolnshire LIVES are putting on a day of first aid training.  These are really good.  The basic cost is likely to be £35 a head but see below.  Even if you have been before an annual course is really worth while.  Hopefully you will never need to use the skills learned but if you do you could save a live.
  • Saturday 31st March.  We have block booked a Lincolnshire Bike Safe day for the Chapter.  £39 is the basic cost for a one day course.  See Lincs Bikesafe for more info.

These courses are for everyone - not just the road crew.  So if you want to join in, go for it.

Now here's the good bit.

The Chapter will pay HALF YOUR ENTRY FEE for each of these events.

We get 10 spaces on the first aid course and 12 on the BikeSafe day.  These are going fast so email me as soon as possible.  When they're gone, they're gone.

John, safety officer

Riders Edge

Harley-Davidson have announced that Ride Experience, who have been providing the Riders Edge experience in the UK is no longer affiliated with the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.  This means that there will be no H-D branded training offer in the UK during 2012.  Lindum Colonia will shortly be announcing a training initiative for our own members and details will be set out very soon.

Merchandise reduced

We need to clear out our stock and:

  • Chapter T shirts reduced from £14 to £10
  • Chapter mugs down to £4.50
  • Flag patches down from £4.50 to £3.50

See Merchandise page for details.

Activities - your views wanted

Activities officer Lyn is asking members what they want from the Chapter in terms of Events.  As the nights draw in and the warm riding season comes to an end, what would YOU like from the Chapter?  Please let her know - by email, on the Forum or at our regular Chapter meetings.

David Martin – Chapter Director

Owning a Harley–Davidson, especially your first, is an exciting, never to be forgotten experience.

And the thrill of riding free on a big twin – the sounds, the chrome, the stance … I could go on and on.

But The Motor Company gives you much more than that in the form of a year’s free membership of the Harley Owners Group – the gateway to a whole world of information, activities, support and the fellowship of other Harley riders. Lindum Colonia UK Chapter is your local outpost. Magazines and websites are really cool, but nothing beats the company of other people who share your enthusiasm because they understand the way you feel about your ride and the culture which surrounds it.

Through Lindum Colonia you can ride with them – short Sunday rides or more extended challenges, socialise quietly at our bi-weekly pub meets, share off-bike social events (including some noisy ones!), attend national and international rallies, and engage in some advanced rider training.

And this is not just a ‘man thing’. We have a goodly number of women who ride their own bikes in addition to those who ride pillion.

Click on Membership over to the left and join us … "share the adventure!”

We want your pictures

If you take pictures on a rideout or at a Chapter event, we would like them for the website and the Chapter's photo-archive.

We publish a selection of pictures from each rideout.  Send them in as soon as possible after the event.

Email us your best shots  - just click on the camera to the left.  If sending large files and depending on your internet connection, it may be best to send only a few at a time.

Group riding guide

Now is a good time to read the  group riding guide again to be ready for the new season.  Thnink about the bike as well.  How are the tyres, and also the brake pads (which can wear away without you noticing them unless you make the time to check them over).
